Day-to-Day Stories: St. Patrick's Sunset on Commercial

My only plan for this past Sunday, March 17th, was for a call with my mentor. Other than that, nothing special. I was looking forward to a quiet day at home.

But I couldn't resist the sun and blue skies, and decided to head out to Commercial Drive for a photowalk. I almost changed my mind when I remembered it was Saint Patrick's Day. Still, I persevered. I figured I could always come back home if my C-PTSD got triggered by the crowds.

While standing in the middle of a quiet side street to take a photo, a fellow pedestrian, who had stopped crossing so I could take the photo, told me someone else had almost got hit by a car a few streets over while standing in the middle of the road to register the sunset through their phone.

Here are my favourite captures from that afternoon. Fellow Vancouverites, let's enjoy this placid weather while we can, before the scorching heat is upon us!

I suppose it's a good thing this tattoo parlour (located right next to a pub) was closed on Saint Patrick's Day.
